Your Legacy Health Check
Get clear on where you stand in under 10 minutes
There’s a question we, at Penguin, often ask in meetings, and it usually lands a little heavier than expected.
If something happened to you yesterday… would your family actually know what to do?
Not just emotionally – but practically.
- Would they know where your will is?
- Who your executors are?
- Whether you’ve got Lasting Powers of Attorney in place?
- How to find your pensions, investments, insurance policies… or even your passwords?
Most people instinctively say “yes”.
When we dig a little deeper, it’s often more like… “I think so.”
And that gap – between “I think” and “I know” – is where the real problems tend to sit.
That’s exactly why we’ve been working on something new behind the scenes.
As part of our ongoing effort to improve what you get from Penguin, we’ve partnered with a brilliant piece of technology called Inheritly. It’s a simple, AI-driven tool designed to give you a clear snapshot of how “prepared” you really are when it comes to your legacy.
In plain English, it helps answer the question: if someone had to step in, how easy would that actually be for them?
It takes around 5-10 minutes to complete, asks a series of straightforward questions and then produces something genuinely useful:
- A Legacy Preparedness Score, so you can see where you stand today.
- A clear view of the gaps people commonly miss – things like missing LPAs, outdated wills, or information that only exists “in your head”.
- And most importantly, a prioritised action plan showing what to do now, next and later to improve things.
What we like about it is that it doesn’t try to overwhelm you. It doesn’t assume everything is broken. It simply gives you clarity.
We’ve been through it ourselves (Craig has shared his on our website here, or will be) and what stood out wasn’t just the score – it was the detail. Small, practical things that are easy to overlook but make a big difference when they matter most.
Things like making sure the right people can actually act on your behalf, that key information is accessible and that your wishes are properly documented rather than just “known”.
This is the kind of work that often gets pushed down the list. Not urgent. Not exciting. Easy to come back to “later”.
Until, of course, later becomes now.
So we’ve decided to offer this to you – at our expense – because we think it’s genuinely valuable.
It’s completely free for clients, friends of Penguin and anyone connected to us. Not something widely available, but something we wanted to make accessible because of the difference it can make.
If you’ve already done this planning with us, then there’s probably no need to go through it again. But if you haven’t, it’s well worth ten minutes of your time.
You’ll learn something. You’ll get clarity. And you’ll likely come away with a short list of things that are far more important than they first appear.
And if, once you’ve been through it, you’d like to talk through the results, ask questions, or explore how to put some of those actions in place – that’s exactly what we’re here for.
No pressure. No obligation. Just a useful starting point.
And if you’d prefer to see what it looks like first, we’ve included an example report here:
As always, we’d genuinely love your feedback. This is something we’re excited about and like everything we do at Penguin, it only gets better with your input.
Because when it comes to your legacy, it’s not about having everything perfect.
It’s about making things clear, simple and manageable for the people you care about most.
