Why planning for the future is important

Most people want to ensure there is a legacy for their children and grandchildren.

The thought of your money leaving your family unit because of a future divorce, bankruptcy or separation, is of huge concern to lots of families. They have worked hard for their money and want to see it go to THEIR family only. Planning for unforeseen circumstances like these will ensure your money is left to the right people.

It is said that over 50% of the UK population don’t have a will. Of those that do, 80% of wills are either out of date, incorrect or simply not written correctly. Wills do go out of date because people are unaware of legislation changes, or there have been changes within the family, or circumstances have changed. Over 60% of Wills in the UK need to be amended following the Inheritance Tax Rule changes that became fully embedded in April 2020. That’s why it’s more important than ever to keep your will up to date and plan for the future, so you are able to potentially reduce or mitigate any Inheritance Tax due on your estate.
